What's the difference between a Shield and a Village Guard?


While both protect you from being attacked, there are some important differences between them:

Village Guard
  1. Short intervals (30 mins to 4 hrs) 
  2. Useable while Shield is inactive 
  3. Can be purchased every day (23-hour cooldown)
  4. Active guard counts toward your Personal Break timer 
  5. Attacking while it’s active will not cost Village Guard time
  6. Duration depends on Trophy League
  7. Not available for signed up Legend League players
Shield
  1. Long intervals (12 hrs to 7 days) 
  2. Useable anytime, but buying a Shield cancels an active Village Guard
  3. Requires a longer cooldown after purchasing
  4. Does not add to Personal Break timer
  5. Attacking while Shielded costs Shield time
