What are the Hero abilities and how do they work?

The Heroes in Clash of Clans, The Barbarian King, the Archer Queen and the Grand Warden have a special ability from level 5 onwards.

The Barbarian King's Iron Fist

At maximum ability level the Iron Fist summons up to 28 Barbarians and gives the Barbarian King increased damage and speed. He also gets a health boost, unless his health bar is still full.

To activate the Iron Fist during a battle, you first have to deploy your Barbarian King on the battlefield. Then, simply tap again on the Barbarian King Icon to activate the ability.

The Archer Queen's Royal Cloak

When using the Royal Cloak ability, the Archer Queen becomes invisible and untargetable temporarily; any defenses attacking her will stop and find new targets. In addition, a group of fierce Archers are called in to reinforce their Queen upon activation. Like the Barbarian King, the Queen receives a health boost if she has already sustained some damage.

To activate the Royal Cloak, tap the Archer Queen's icon again after deploying her.

The Grand Warden's Eternal Tome

Unlike the other Heroes, the Grand Warden has a passive ability, the Life Aura. It activates upon deployment and grants additional health to any troop within range, but only for as long as they remain inside the area of effect.

The Grand Warden's ability, the Eternal Tome makes all troops around him invincible for a a duration.

Upgrade the Warden to increase the power of both abilities.

You can choose to set the Grand Warden in air or ground mode before deploying him.
