hat is the layout editor?

The layout editor allows you to modify your Home and Builder Base layouts, as well as your war bases. You have 3 Home Village and 3 Builder Base layouts, and up to 6 different layouts for your War Base.

The first three Home Village and War Base layouts unlock at Town Hall levels 3, 5, and 7. After this it is possible to purchase more War Base layout slots with Gems.

How does it work, Chief?

• Whenever you unlock a layout slot, you can start working on an alternative layout, and save it with the ‘save’ button (half-finished, if you wish!).
• Any layout can be set as the “active layout” at any time, as long as it’s completed (i.e. all buildings deployed) and saved.
• Any layout can be copied to another slot as long as the target slot is not the active layout.
• If you need to continue editing your village some other time, then simply tap on ‘finish later’ to resume editing whenever you’re back.

What do the icons mean!? 

If you see the ‘tree’ icon (above), it means your current layout has some obstacles blocking your buildings. Click on that layout and remove the obstructing obstacle. 

If you see the ‘building’ icon (above), it means you have new buildings that must be placed within your village. Select that layout and add the new buildings as you please.

NOTE: Editing a village layout will result in a 24h cooldown for Friendly Challenges.

Copying layouts from Clan mates

You can also copy your clanmates' layouts.

You can copy any layout that they have currently selected as their active layout. Visit your clan mate and you'll see the "Copy layout" button in the corner of the screen.

It is also possible to share and copy layouts through a link. Open a link to a layout to copy it. You can share your own layout in the layout selection screen. Layout links expire after 28 days if nobody has followed them. Opening a layout link postpones the expiration by 28 days.

The only limitation for copying layouts are, that you have to be Town Hall 4 or above. You can copy layouts from Town Halls and Builder Halls one level above or below your own.
