Why can't I find opponents? I'm stuck in the clouds!

Whenever you search for opponents in Home Village, you will see "the clouds" as the game searches for an opponent. You can only be matched with villages that don't have a Shield or Guard active, and that are in the same Trophy range as yourself and that are of similar Town Hall level.

If no villages in your trophy range and close to your Town Hall level have their Shields or Guards down, the game can't match you with those villages. This results in you getting "stuck in the clouds" for a while. You can get stuck even for a very long time, depending on how high up in Trophies you are, as you'll have less players who you can be matched up against.

Although this is most times an issue for high-level players, game updates and in-game events can increase the wait-times in matchmaking for lower trophy ranges as well. As people are suddenly more active in Clash of Clans, more villages have their Shields and Guards active, and so the "clouds are brought down" to lower trophy ranges.

For a vast majority of Chiefs the clouds aren't really a problem, but for those pushing trophies at the very top they are a real nuisance. We are investigating the best ways to solve this issue for the very top players, but have to make sure that the solution doesn't impact negatively on everyone else in the Trophy ladder.
