Somebody attacked me while I had a Shield/Village Guard

Sometimes it may seem as if you were attacked when you should have been protected by a shield or a Village Guard. While this may seem like the case, keep in mind that it's impossible for players to attack a village with an active shield or guard.

A shield or guard removes you from the matchmaking pool of "available" villages found when other players are looking for targets. If your village showed up and was attacked, it indicates that for some reason your shield/guard was cancelled prior to the attack.

What can take my Shield away?

• Starting a multiplayer attack and deploying a troop or spell. The cost of attacking with a shield is 3h for the first attack and rises with each attack from there on.
• You can only get a shield if the attacker deployed at least 1/3 of a full army (calculated according to your TH level).
• Your shield can be manually removed from the shield timer

You can participate in Clan Wars, Clan War Leagues or play the single player missions and attack in your Builder Base without fear of losing any shield.
